The HighEdWeb 2008 Conference is looking for an individual or team to help design this year's conference web site and logo.

Entering the Competition

All entries must be submitted online. Submissions should be zipped and made accessible via http. Please include the URL of your zipped file with your entry form. You will receive a confirmation number after submitting your designs. Please retain this code for your records.

Submissions

Include an HTML template file with all images, CSS, etc. in your zipped file. If you would like to include example content within the template, please use the 2007 conference web site as a resource.

Your original conference logo needs to be submitted in vector format for conference publications. Text included with your logo design needs be converted to outlines prior to submitting. (Do not embed fonts within your logo.) When designing the conference logo, the HighEdWeb Association logo (jpg format / tif format / eps format) needs to be incorporated within your design; however, the lower line and the word assocation may be removed from the logo. The font used in the HighEdWeb Association logo is Myriad Pro.

Colors can be chosen at the contestant's discretion. This year's conference theme is Infinite Solutions.

Prizes

Winner(s) of the HighEdWeb Design competition will be recognized in the conference program and on the 2008 conference web site. The individual winner or the winning team will receive $200, which will be awarded on the first day of the conference. The winner, or at least one member of the team, must be present to accept the award.

Timeline

All entries must be submitted using the online contest form by 12:00PM on January 21, 2008. Entries will be judged by the 2008 HighEdWeb Conference committee. The winning design will be announced February 19, 2008, on the 2008 HighEdWeb Conference website.

Eligibility

Original designs may be submitted by a team or an individual. All entrants must be currently employed by a higher education institution at time of entry.

Additional Notes

The conference logo will be used on the web and in print publications, as well as on conference apparel. This may include embroidery; please keep this in mind when designing your logo. The web site should adhere to web standards and should render correctly on all major web browsers.

Copyright

The HighEdWeb Association will not be liable for copyright infringement on the part of a contestant. All submissions are assumed to be the property of the contestant or team submitting the designs. Do not use third party images in your designs.

Use

Entrants grant permission to the HighEdWeb Association to use their original design or modification of their design in any web site or publications managed by the HighEdWeb Association. Entrants also grant the HighEdWeb Association permission to use their name and institution name for promotional materials.
