Keynote Announcement

Todd Markelz

Todd Markelz
Assistant Webmaster
Google, Inc.

As a member of Google's Web group — a small team of developers who manage all Google Web sites — Todd is charged with maintaining Google's brand by producing clean, simple layouts with a strong emphasis on user-focused design. He works closely with teams from all parts of the company, in countries around the world, to develop and maintain Web sites that promote Google, its products and services, and its culture.

"From Syllabi to Silicon Valley: What I Miss About Higher Education"

Before joining Google, Todd worked as a Web Administrator at Cornell University, and was responsible for maintaining more than 30 Web sites during his four-year tenure. For the HighEdWebDev conference, Todd brings the unique perspective of someone who has gone from the world of higher education to one of the world's most cutting-edge technology companies, all the while emphasizing user needs and usable design.

Same Great Conference, New Location

Thanks to our wonderful past attendees and presenters, we have outgrown our old location at the Rochester Institute of Technology and will be moving downtown, to the heart of the city of Rochester, New York.

Conference sessions will be held at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, and with the new location, attendees will have a greater opportunity to explore the Flower City.
